PORT WASHINGTON, WI (WHBL) - Portions of Sheboygan County officially have a new state senator. Republican Duey Stroebel of Cedarburg was sworn in Wednesday in Port Washington to replace Glenn Grothman as the state’s 20th District senator.
Stroebel was elected to the seat earlier this month, after winning a primary over two others Republicans in February.
In a statement, Stroebel says he is thankful to all who elected him to the seat. He says he will work towards repealing the state’s prevailing wage law, expanding school choice, and lowering taxes.
Stroebel will finish out Grothman’s term, which is up for election in the fall of 2016.
