SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan County’s “obituary burglar” is scheduled to return to court Tuesday. Online court records show 64 year old Dennis Petrie is scheduled to have a plea/sentencing hearing at 2 p.m. in front of Judge Timothy Van Akkeren.
Petrie is charged with over two dozen theft, burglary and criminal damage charges for allegedly stealing items from homes from 2007 to 2012 where estate sales were taking place after those who lived there recently died.
WHBL’s news archives show Petrie was sentenced in 2013 to eight years in prison and supervision for two such incidents in March 2012. The other charges were challenged due to a question of the search warrant associated with evidence collected for those charges.
