SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - With less than a week to go before spring election day, area clerks are preparing for the busy day.
City of Sheboygan Clerk Sue Richards says it takes several months to plan and prepare for any election. She tells WHBL News they are once again ready for April 7th. "I’m very proud of the fact that Sheboygan continues to run very, very well run elections," says Richards. "We have an excellent group of poll workers, and we do everything that we can by the book. We do the best that we can and I think we’ve done an excellent job over the years."
As for turnout, Richards says locally it could be higher than the 20-percent predicted statewide by the Government Accountability Board. "Typically I would say about 25-percent," says Richards. "I think that with the different races that we do have, there aren’t many but we do have some races, it could easily push up to 30-percent."
Richards reminds everyone that photo IDs will not be needed for this election, but it will be needed for future elections after next Tuesday.
