SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan’s Memorial Mall has a new owner.
Sheboygan Director of Planning and Development Chad Pelishek says the Michigan-based retail chain purchased the Memorial Mall and the Sears complex for 10.75 million dollars Tuesday.
Pelishek says the sale comes at a time when the mall needed some redevelopment. "Although the final plans aren’t laid out as to what they’re going to do with it, I think it can bring some good opportunity to the area," says Pelichek.
Recently the mall has seen several stores leave, including Sears.
Meijer has been busy with expansions of its store locations in Wisconsin, with four stores scheduled to open in southeast Wisconsin this year. There is also talk of a store in the Green Bay area.
