SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - Libraries across Sheboygan County are seeing more use, but not in the traditional way you may be thinking.
Eastern Shores Library System Director Amy Birtell says there are two noted increases as annual reports are being put together.
One is the number of people using a library, but not always for checking out materials. "Maybe they’re sitting there to study, or maybe they’re going to meet someone there, or they are there to use the Wi-Fi, whether they’re there for a program; there are multiple reasons," Birtell
Also seeing an increase is the checking out of e-materials. Birtell says some libraries saw growth as much as four times in the past year. "It is extremely exciting. It is extremely interesting to see how this is going to go in the next couple of years," says Birtell.
