SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - A study was recently completed to compare how well Sheboygan County employees are paid and compensated to similar positions outside of county government.

Speaking on WHBL'S “Sheboygan’s Morning News” Wednesday, County Administrator Adam Payne said the study is intended to make sure the county is competitive.  "That we're able to attract and retain very good employees, and that we’re not going to lose employees to other counties, whether it’s other public sector or private sector positions," says Payne.

The study found about 30 employees should have higher wages, while around 70 are paid above the maximum average level.

The county board will vote next month on how to implement the plan, which will coincide with a budgeted overall pay increase for all county employees this year.
