Group Opposed to Field of Dreams Sale Voice Concerns

SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The future of Field of Dreams North is now in the hands of the Sheboygan Common Council.

The Sheboygan Area School District approved to sell the green space to Aurora Health Care last month.  Aurora wants to use the space to build a new outpatient surgery and medical office buildings.

The city is planning a hearing March 16 related to the rezoning of Field of Dreams North to allow the buildings to be built there.

There is a group called "Save the Field of Dreams" trying to stop the sale.  Member Melissa Braesch says the rezoning has been recommended by the city Plan Commission, but final approval is still needed by the full common council.  "And, ultimately, that means the people decide because they're our elected officials, and they represent us.  And we're trying to get out the story to say this is not a good deal for this city," says Braesch.

WHBL will have extensive coverage on the issue all next week.
