
MADISON, Wis.(WHBL) - The unemployment rate in both the city of Sheboygan and the county went up in December, but that was the case in most of Wisconsin. The latest figures from the Department of Workforce Development put the city rate at 7.6 percent…up 4-tenths while the county rate went up 3-tenths to 5.8 percent. Both are slightly lower than last December. According to the report, the number of jobs in the Sheboygan area held steady, but are still 300 fewer than last year. All 12 metro areas of the state saw increased unemployment. The statewide rate is at 6.6 percent.
