ELKHART LAKE, WI (WHBL) - It was a gathering of who’s who in Sheboygan County Thursday as the Sheboygan County Chamber held their annual Championship Gala at the Osthoff Resort.
Executive Director Betsy Alles says it’s designed to recognize the best and brightest in the county in their respected fields. "Businesses, nonprofit organizations, volunteers; that’s what this is all about," says Alles.
Alles is also impressed with how much the county has come to love the event, with attendance growing from 160 back in 2010 to 650 in 2015.
The chamber recognized their 80 nominees for 12 different categories. As for the winners, they include:
-Ambassador of the Year: Laura Gumm of Alliant Energy and Lindsay Harrison of Engaged Social Networking
-Chamber Superstar (lifetime achievement): David Prigge of Discovery Coach
-Community Volunteer: Peter Geise
-Golden Apple Top Educator: Carrie Dassow, Plymouth School District
-Hospitality Star of the Year: Blue Harbor Resort & Spa
-Manufacturer of the Year: Rockline Industries, Inc.
-Non-Profit of the Year: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sheboygan County
-Retailer of the Year: Olivu 426
-Safety Leader: RCS Empowers, Inc.
-Service Business of the Year: ACUITY
-Working Together: Meals on Wheels of Sheboygan County & WPS Gardens
