SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan County Administrator Adam Payne says the biggest challenge for Sheboygan County in 2015 will be how to maintain roadways given that the cost to do so has double in the last ten years. "Maintaining our transportation system is critical to our quality of life, and critical for economic development," says Payne
Payne wants to come up with a solution sooner than later since not keeping up with basic road maintenance will mean more expensive road construction in the future. "It totally is fiscally responsible to look at the number of roads you have, and to plan accordingly to take care of them as needed," says Payne.
The question then becomes what ways do you get that adequate funding. Payne expect county officials to be discussing this throughout the next months.
