SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - There are plenty of concerns and questions for the future of Field of Dreams North.
Several dozen people young and old came to Monday’s Sheboygan Common Council meeting to ask the city to block a proposed purchase by Aurora for Field of Dreams North to build a new outpatient care building. Those who spoke raised concerns over how this plan was not made public until a day before the land sale was to take place.
Rene Rusch wanted to have questions answered over the possible design of the new building. "Why we have 610 parking spaces for a very small outpatient medical facility surgery center? Why is there three access roads going into it if it is a small outpatient facility as well?," says Rusch.
Those opposed to the sale are not against plans to have new top-quality sports fields built on the city’s south side.
The Common Council did approve having a public hearing for zoning changes scheduled for next month.
The Sheboygan Area School District has scheduled a public comment meeting for Thursday at Cooper Elementary, as their Board of Education will consider the land sale at their meeting next Tuesday.
