SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - We now know why Joe Leibham left the State Senate one month before his term ends. The former 9th District Senator will be joining the law firm of Foley and Lardner starting Monday as a lobbyist at their Madison office.
In a statement, the law firm says Leibham will work as public affairs director, and will start managing the firm’s government relations practice on January 1. C-E-O Jay Rothman says Leibham’s years of experience as a state legislator will help their clients “effectively navigate the legislative, regulatory and political landscapes in Wisconsin state government.”
Leibham chose not to run for re-election this fall to run for Tom Petri’s House seat, but lost in a primary to eventual winner Glenn Grothman.
