SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan Police have taken a 21 year old male into custody after causing a standoff that lasted over 12 hours.  Captain Jim Veeser said the subject was apprehended without incident or injury just before 9 a.m. at the residence on South 10th Street.

Police were called to the residence just after 8:30 p.m. Monday when family members were concerned about comments made by the subject and the presence of a handgun.  Police were able to get family members out of the residence in short time, but it took the overnight, morning hours and the use of tear gas, a robot, and assistance from the Milwaukee Police Department before the subject was taken into custody.

The only impact on the general public was the closure of South 10th Street for several hours near the residence, and the cancelling of classes at nearby Farnsworth Middle School.
