SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - 72 students attending five Sheboygan County private schools this school year are receiving state tax funded vouchers. The state Department of Public Instruction released details Thursday on the 1,013 vouchers issued to students this year.
Sheboygan Christian School got the most vouchers with 30. St. Paul Lutheran School in Sheboygan and Sheboygan Area Lutheran High School each got 11, while Trinity Lutheran School in Sheboygan and St. John Lutheran School in Plymouth each got 10. No details were provided of how many of those students attended a private or public school the previous school year.
Across the state about three of every four students receiving a voucher attended a private school last year, while one of every five attended a public school.
