SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Unemployment rates in Sheboygan County dropped last month, but so did the number of workers.

The state Department of Workforce Development says preliminary figures show the Sheboygan metro area had 600 fewer people working in September when compared to August.  But that did not affect unemployment rates, as Sheboygan County is down two-tenths of a percent to 4.0, and the city of Sheboygan dropped one-tenth to 5.0.

Across the state, all but a few counties, cities and metro areas had lower unemployment rates last month when compared to August.  Wisconsin as a whole has an unemployment rate of 5.5 - the lowest in six years.
