TOWN OF RUSSELL, Wi (WHBL) - A New Holstein man was seriously injured early Saturday in a single-car crash in Sheboygan County. The Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported about two a.m. Sgt. Jim Gottsacker said deputies responded to County J in the town of Russell where they discovered a car that had left the road, overturned, and struck a utility pole with the 22 year old driver trapped inside. Gottsacker said live wires had come down and were on the vehicle which delayed efforts to free the driver. Once they got him out he was flown from the scene to Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah with life-threatening injuries. The man’s name isn’t being released pending notification of his family.
