SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan County is waiting for official word before they will start issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples. Some counties in the state have begun issuing licenses after the U.S. Supreme Court decided not to take up an appeal on Wisconsin’s constitutional ban on gay marriages. County Clerk Jon Dolson said they are working with Corporate Counsel to ensure the stay that stopped the issuing of licenses has officially lifted. Once they get that word, then they will start issuing licenses. As of mid afternoon Monday, Dolson said no one has asked their office for a same sex marriage license.
