PLYMOUTH, WI (WHBL) - A severe thunderstorm rolled through the Plymouth area shortly after 8 o’clock Monday night, bringing high winds and heavy rain.  Scanner reports indicated that the western part of the county may have been hit the hardest with reports of a tree down on wires and the pole down, blocking traffic on Grove Street in Plymouth and another tree down on Western Avenue in Plymouth.  There were also reports in Plymouth of the rains resulting in manhole covers being blown off.  Scanner reports indicated that the heavy rain hampered response to an accident on Highway 23 west of Greenbush due to near zero visibility at the time. The Sheriff's Department said a 25 year old Fond du Lac woman escaped injury after her car left Highway 23 near County U west of Greenbush and traveled down an 8 foot embankment.  The accident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. during the peak of the severe storm.  The Sheriff’s Department said Mariajuana Durandepineda’s car hydroplaned, causing her to lose control.  She was out of the car by the time first responders arrived on the scene and wasn’t injured.
