SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Four people are running as Republicans trying to replace Dan LeMahieu as the 59th Assembly representative.  One of them is small business owner Bill Savage of Hartford.  He says his work as a school board member, a tax association leader, and chief of staff for Assemblyman Don Pridemore makes him best suited for a legislative post in Madison.  He says he's earned a reputation as being a staunch conservative and that's what the people in the district are telling him that they want.  If elected to the Assembly, Savage says he will focus on making people who are on state welfare programs earn their benefits, keep other legislators who made promises for cutting taxes and regulations accountable, and continuing on changes made in state government since Republicans gain control in 2011.  He said, "We haven't decreased the size and scope of government at all, so there is some work to do there, and that's one of the things I'm going to focus on."  Savage faces Jesse Kremer, Ralph Prescott, and Timothy Ramthun in Tuesday’s primary.  With no Democrat on the ballot, the primary winner will most likely win the November general election.
