SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The race to replace Steve Kestell as the 27th Assembly representative has three people running in a Republican primary next Tuesday. One of them is Jackie Jarvis, a Plymouth city council member and former City of Sheboygan Development Director.
On Sheboygan’s Morning News Friday, she said her past experiences make her a good fit for a state political office. She also stressed that there's a need for cooperation between political parties. If elected to the Assembly, Jarvis said her focus will be on improving the state’s business climate, along with cutting more waste from the state budget so funding for necessary items are increased - including those for schools, local emergency services, and road maintenance.
Jarvis faces Darryl Carlson and Tyler Vorpagel in the August 12th primary. The winner faces Democrat Scott Heinig in November.
