SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Residences and businesses on Sheboygan's south side have their power back following an outage Sunday morning.
Reports of the outage began after 6 a.m. and affected areas south of Indiana Avenue, including stop lights along South Business Drive and Washington Avenue. At one point over 3,800 customers were affected.
Alliant Energy says the outage was due to a problem at the transformer on Union and South 19th Street. A spokesperson said crews were at the scene to determine what was wrong and worked on re-routing power from other sources to those affected by the outage.
By 11:30, power had been restored to all affected customers. There has been no word as to what caused the transformer issue as of early Sunday afternoon.
