SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan Police are investigating a one vehicle accident from overnight in Kiwanis Park that injured one.
Sgt. Terence Meyer says they received word of a vehicle that crashed a power pole at North 17th Street and Kiwanis Park Road around 2:45. When authorities arrived, they found the vehicle next to some trees along the Sheboygan River, unoccupied. The Sheboygan County Dive Team was activated to help search for the driver, who was found along the river bank.
The 25 year old Sheboygan man was taken to St. Nicholas Hospital for treatment of injuries, and was later flown to Theda Clark Hospital.
Sheboygan Fire Department Batallion Chief Tim Kohlbeck said they did search the area for a possible second person involved in the accident. However, no evidence of this was found.
Sheboygan Police are still investigating the accident. This will keep Kiwanis Park Road and North 17th Street closed to traffic, most likely through the morning hours.
