SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - There will apparently be another showdown on the city of Sheboygan’s 2013 budget.  Mayor Terry Van Akkeren wants the garbage fee out and cash reserves used to balance the budget.  Finance Chair Don Hammond says that’s not the best way.  The city council failed to approve the Finance Committee’s recommendation on Monday and has until December 10th to do it.  In the meantime, Van Akkeren says he’s hoping for compromise.  The two men appeared on Sheboygan’s Morning News Wednesday morning to discuss the issue and Hammond said he’s hoping to bring back the Finance budget.  The Mayor says even if the budget passes, he'll veto it with no compromise.  The council is expected to meet in special session on Monday.  It would take 9 votes to approve the budget and 11 votes to override a mayoral veto.  You can listen to the full discussion that aired on WHBL above.
