SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - The Wisconsin Badgers’ third straight visit to the Rose Bowl may be a chance to get revenue for two heart-breaking losses to the Pac-12. If interim coach Barry Alvarez can take up where he left off, things will be fine. Alvarez has won three straight trips to the most vaunted bowl game of the season. Alvarez tells reporters all he needs is a whistle and a bunch of guys to coach and he’ll be comfortable. Even though his Wisconsin team is an underdog against Stanford today, he’s calling the game a “gift.” This is the 99th Rose Bowl played in Pasadena, California. The players say Alvarez has brought a little swagger to their locker room and we should see it on the sidelines, too. Stanford comes in with an 11-2 record against the 8-5 Badgers, but both teams rely on talented running backs doing their business behind huge offensive lines. The Cardinal are a five and a half point favorite in the game. Kickoff is at 4 p.m. Central time.
