SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Heads up, especially if you drive a motorcycle. Sheboygan Police will be cracking down on loud and illegal exhaust systems. Officer Joel Kuszynski said they receive numerous complaints about loud exhaust, often aggravated by excessive acceleration, especially during the summer months. Kuszynski says state law requires a properly maintained muffler and prohibits modifying them to increase noise. And, he says, there is a city ordinance against creating unnecessary noise by squealing tires or excessive acceleration. Kuszynski is urging motorists to exercise “throttle management” because police are going to be focusing on enforcement.
