The Green Bay Packers drafted a pair of new weapons for Aaron Rodgers to throw to. The Packers drafted Fresno State wide receiver Davante Adams in the second round (53
rd overall pick) and California tight end Richard Rodgers in the third round (98
th overall pick). Adams, a six-foot-one standout for the Bulldogs, is the likely replacement of James Jones – who was lost to the Oakland Raiders in free agency this offseason. The Packers also picked up Southern Miss defensive tackle Khyri Thorton in the third round (85
th overall pick). Pending last-minute trades, the Packers have five more picks in the draft.

A pair of Wisconsin standouts will make their way to the N-F-C this upcoming N-F-L season. The Atlanta Falcons drafted safety Dezmen Southward in the third round of last night’s N-F-L Draft (68th overall pick), while the 49ers drafted linebacker Chris Borland in the 77th overall pick. Five other Badgers – Jared Abbrederis, Beau Allen, Ryan Groy, Jacob Pedersen and James White – are hoping to hear their names called today when the final four rounds of the draft gets underway.
