SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - With its usual pomp and pagentry, Sheboygan County's Board of Supervisors began reorganizing Tuesday evening following elections earlier this month. Three new people joined the 25 member board; Steven Bauer, Libby Ogea, and Bob Ziegelbauer.
There will be no change regarding leadership for the board as Roger Te Stroete was re-elected as chairman. He said he was greatful for the opportunity to lead the board the past two years, and is excited to be doing so again the next two years with the help of his fellow supervisors and county department heads. Robert Wegner was re-elected as vice chairman.
There was a little extra excitement during the meeting when Supervisor Fay Uraynar proposed a change to the county board rules that would have allowed board members time at every meeting to discuss whatever topic they wanted to for up to five minutes. A number of supervisors spoke out against the motion, saying there were other ways for board members to speak out about an issue such as at appropriate committee meetings. The motion was defeated 22 to 3.
The board will complete their reorganization next week.
