SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Milwaukee couple is facing felony theft charges after trying to rip off the self check at Sheboygan’s south side Wal-Mart. 34 year old Timothy Williams and 28 year old Carresha Goodlow were charged Tuesday in Sheboygan County Court. The two were actually arrested last Sunday for shoplifting in Saukville when the scheme was uncovered. Authorities said the two had been using UPC tags torn from cheaper items when checking out the more expensive ones through the self-check. For example, they checked out a $139 coffeemaker for $9. They also checked out a $200 cookware set for $20. Total value of all the stolen merchandise was more than $700. Saukville police recovered all of the stolen items. Meanwhile, the pair is facing up to 3 years in prison if convicted.
