SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Two Milwaukee women face forgery charges for trying to use counterfeit $100 bills at Sheboygan County businesses last Friday.
Prosecutors say 21 year old Marie Williams and 20 year old Ebone Spencer both were traveling to the Sheboygan area when they stopped at Hyway Transit - near Cedar Grove - for gas. There they used a real bill for the gas, but showed a counterfeit bill that store management kept for evidence. The two then drove to Sheboygan and stopped at the McDonalds on Kohler Memorial Drive, where they tried to use another counterfeit bill.
Authorities stopped the two in the Belgium area and found they had a total of three counterfeit $100 bills Williams told authorities she had picked up two of the bills from another person prior to leaving Milwaukee, thinking they were real.
