Vote Yes group trying to get Sheboygan Falls School referedums to pass

SHEBOYGAN FALLS, WI (WHBL) - A group of Sheboygan Falls school district residents want voters on Tuesday to approve a new middle school and auditorium.  The “Vote Yes” committee was formed in early February to help pass the two question referendum.

Member Christian Ellis said the group has been doing everything they can to get out in the public to let people know about the referendum and why they should vote yes.  This includes yard signs, print and social media, door to door canvasing, and attending public events.

Ellis said their main argument for the referendum is that the current 86 year old middle school is no longer the best way to educate students, even if renovation are made to address issues such as insulation, roof leakage, and secure entrances.  Any additional money put into the building will be seen to him as inefficient.

Committee member Kelly Rauch said she got involved because of her own kids going through the building, seeing first hand the many deficiencies in the building and wanting a change to improve the students learning environment.  Her son Kevin, a fifth grader at the school, agrees with her mother and feels repairs will not do enough to make the school last longer.

Voters will have their say on the $30.3 million dollar referendums on April 1.
