SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan’s 14th Street Bridge is scheduled to be remodeled next summer.  The Wisconsin DOT will be holding a public involvement meeting on March 27 to provide preliminary designs for the project.

Project manager Kyle Treml said the work will focus most on widening the road surface.  There will still be two lanes of traffic in both directions, but there will be a wider outside lane for bike traffic.  There will also be room for sidewalks for pedestrians and lighting on the bridge.

Treml said the project will require the bridge to be closed to traffic and motorists will need to take alternative routes around it.

The meeting on the 27th will be at the Kiwanis Fieldhouse and start at 4:30 p.m.
