SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Manitowoc man faces multiple charges for leading Sheboygan and Manitowoc County law enforcement on a high speed chase early Thursday morning with a toddler in his vehicle.
According to the criminal complaint, a Sheboygan County deputy clocked a vehicle driven by 42 year old Christopher Raine going 96 miles per hour on I-43 north of Sheboygan. Raine would continue northward at speeds up to 85 mph, but eventually pulled over north of Cleveland after swerving to avoid spike strips. Officers found a three year old boy in the vehicle, who was unharmed in the incident.
Raine was found to have a blood alcohol level of .105, and claimed he did not see the flashing lights of the pursuing squad cars behind him. He faces charges of second OWI, recklessly endangering safety, attempting to flee, and bail jumping.
